I bough a set a few months ago. The case isn't bad. I had to send one book back that was damaged and a third printing but he did send a replacement soon as I sent it back.

I think that what he was saying that if you contacted the buyer with the actual blank-check offer, but had no intention of following through, then you are a buyer to avoid.

I doubt the buyer took your blank-check offer seriously, and took it for what it was....an inquiry into what his BUY IT NOW price is.

Exactly. As tippy said, what i consider that is not a fair behaviour, is not making an offer outside of ebay and asking him to stop the auction. that happens, but pretending to have a blank check and knowing that you have no intention whatsoever of buying it. Just that 2 cents.
