Rage (Stephen King) Richard Bachman Paperbook 1st Edition 1977 Rare Out Of Print
\
I have messaged him twice on eBay and have received responses in the middle of the night while I am sleeping. So far, he has been responsive and addressed my generic inquiries in a kind and thorough way. I have not yet tried to buy anything from him. I have been addressing him as "Robert" since I saw from his feedback that is his name. I know nothing else other than the above.
Can't remember who, but a member wanted one of these in new condition (virtually impossible), but at $20 BIN, this is a good price.

I had one transaction with him and it was great. HOWEVER, after the transaction we started talking about once/twice a week and MOST of what he said didn't add up. I started asking other people and they told me that most of what he says is bullshit. He claimed to have all issued lettered King books in the letter "D"). About a month after that I found a lettered D From A Buick 8 for sale. I told him where it was so he could grab it. Not sure who bought it but it wasn't to him.
Finally, about a year later, I was looking for some hard-to-find books and I contacted him via e-mail. No response. A month or so passed and he sent me an e-mail listing his entire collection for sale. Nothing really rare and not very good condition. I believe he was looking for $50K -- not really the value one would expect for one of the best personal collections in the world! Do not believe the pictures - they might be real but they aren't his. And, FWIW, I know at least 10-20 people who have better or larger collections than what he purports to own. BUYER BEWARE!

The Shining - Stephen King 1978 1st Edition Printing Signet, Paperback PB
So sad. Faded spine essentially ruins the book (as a Fine copy). Starts at $1,600, but (IMO) not worth half that,

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
