It may be too early to know if it's a smoking deal ($1500 opening bid, $2,000 BIN), but it sure looks like a well-kept copy.

I bought some books from this guy a few years ago. He was a very interesting character to talk with. He sent me a list of King books with prices just like he posted on his Ebay Pretty Pony auction. I tried to help him understand his prices maybe a little high but the conversation would have gone better if I had simply talked to my kitchen wall.

Ridiculous price. Ol' arkee has been on eBay just about since the beginning. He was one of the first sellers I came across when I started on eBay in 1998 (or was it 1996?). I've never bought anything from him and I doubt I ever will. His feedback is good so I'm sure he delivers the merchandise but who would ever pay his asking price? I don't think he has changed his auction template since the early days. Still using that fake folksy talk like "Why don't you give my other biddin's a look-see." Jeeez.

Despite what the listing says I do not think that that is the first printing. There are definitely two states of that program. One is thicker (about 40 pages) and is mostly advertisements (like most benefit programs are). The other (felt to be a reprint) is only 4 or 5 pages, has no ads and consists entirely of King's non-fiction piece. This auction is for the latter and much more common state.

In the orginal, the King story is on pages 17-24. In the "reprint", is on pages 3-6.

Hannes, I'd love to get another half dozen from you (Skeleton Crew, both Pet Semetary's, both Dead Zones, UK EOTD) but there's no way. My wife's Civic just went in on Friday for some long overdue maintenance ... when we get it back tomorrow we're going to be $1400 poorer. Besides that, I really went over budget on the collections this past month or so between King and military art acquisitions (but it was oh so worth it).
