I think $1100 is a stretch, they should have left it closed.

The book might be fine. The dustjacket has a few issues.

Who takes pictures of books within bags? Apparently this seller. He took it out for the copyright page pic. Why not just photograph it without something covering up the defects?

After being in shrinkwrap so long I would definitely want to see photos of edges and corners of the dustjacket.

There is obvious creasing/cracking/small tears to the dustjacket in the pics he provided.

There is a bad bump to the upper rear board corner. Upper and lower spine bumps.

I wouldn't pay that price for that book. That said, if I was thinking of buying it I would request some better pictures.

aaaand I still don't get why Volume 1 goes for more than Volume 2. They are both out of print, both have the same limitation and if you want one, why would you not want the other? (equally desirable)

It makes zero sense to me.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I think it was all the people who bought #2 at list price because it took FOREVER to sell out then went back to buy #1. So a lot of people had only number one and the people who wanted to complete the set would pay a premium.

I'm assuming that since David just sold a similar one for $750 that this is overpriced? I did make a couple of offers which were immediately declined so the seller doesn't really want to deal...
