I know in this particular case I wouldn't have minded because the slipcase for Christine is so simple and thin, but if the slipcase really added something to the book, like the slipcase for the S/L Skeleton Crew or even Eyes of the Dragon, I would think differently.Dont be too upset. Your situation of a S/L Gunslinger without the original slipcase is tough. I know I could live happily with a copy of that book in a replacement slipcase because the original slipcase doesn't really add anything substantial to the book, like it doesn't have the title gold stamped on it or have any artwork or anything, but at what price point, I can't really say. I think a 1500 dollar discount would sit alright with me, but then again, I'm not writing out a check for 3500 dollars right now, so it's hard to say for sure. LOL, I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when (or if) I get to it. Interesting stuff. Thank you for sharing that with me (and everyone else). I appreciate it.

It's not King's handwriting. The inscription in the paperback is genuine, but worth very little.
And I doubt even a very young King would have misspelled the word "where."
