I didn't even have to think about this. Minority Report: one of the most perfect blockbuster films ever made. Iron Man: An average film of the lowest quality era of the MCU.

Easy vote here. Iron Man had a good run. MR is my dark horse.

Tom Cruise is good, but occasionally it's as if producers say "hey, if we spend as much on CGI as we are going to on Cruise's salary, it has to come out great, right?", and MR was definitely one of those times.

No way. It's not some mailed in Hollywood blockbuster. It's a Spielberg film based on a Philip K. Dick short story for god's sake! You don't get much better than that. When I think of Minority Report, I don't think of CGI at all. I think you may have to revisit this one.

On the one hand, I love Spielberg for entertainment value; on the other, he doesn't get negative emotions, and makes everything more human than it otherwise should be (which brings in more revenues, but works against the art) - he's very much not the guy to make any kind of dystopian movie. I understand, however, that his adaptation apparently worked for others.

I’m guessing we all came out of what could’ve been a horrifying movie primarily feeling admiration (not horror) for someone who wasn’t a Jew targeted for death. I’m not saying it wasn’t a good movie, but in this case, Spielberg’s softening (very much not dark) touch is what made the story palatable to a mass market (kind of his thing).

In case IM gets a couple of last minute votes, I voted for IM. Saw MR in the theaters, and as I recall nobody I went with was impressed with it. In fact I have never had the urge to watch it again. (I generally buy 70-80% of the movies I see in the theater on disc when it comes out, I have never given MR consideration).

If you haven’t seen it since 2002 then I would certainly urge you to watch it again. One of Spielberg's best!

I'm surprised. Most people I talk with enjoyed Minority Report. The fact that it's still hanging around proves it has its fans.

Minority Report is basically a perfect blockbuster. If even 10% of blockbusters were made with such care, craftsmanship, and passion, that would make all the difference.
