No info on pricing but it's planned for an August release. If I remember correctly, the order page will be available by the end of this month (mentioned in one of the latest PS newsletters).

I believe I paid around $200 USD for 20th Century Ghosts 10th Anniversary S/L. If I remember correctly, several people were assuming it would be around that for The Fireman.
I hope it's less than that. Especially with the market absolutely deluged with numerous signed variants -- I think we must be close to ten now, with all the individual "special" bookstore editions in both the US and the UK and the publisher's edition (above) -- and Joe on a decent tour, I have to think that dilutes the demand and, hopefully, the cost. Perhaps if it had been the first to appear and thus could claim the first world appearance, i.e. true first edition, then maybe...but now, while I'm sure it'll be the most attractive of the bunch w/ its color art, it's just one of many special editions. Guess we'll know soon enough.

Received my copy from Waterstone today. I was a little disappointed that Joe didn't write a little something extra in it as I requested. No sweat though as I still received a nice signature. Really looking forward to reading this one. I love his short story work and have enjoyed most of his novels.

It was last month sometime. I get that they probably had a cutoff for doodles or whatever but I was told almost immediately after placing the order specifically that Joe was not doing any doodles at all this time around, not that there was a random choosing.

Here's my copy from last night. Because it was pre-release, I asked him to date it as well...

Once I was told that no doodles would be done I did ask for it to be inscribed and dated but that didn't happen either. Maybe I didn't reply in time, not sure. They did apologize for that and mistakes are made, I get it. But I do feel like I was lied to about the doodle thing whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Yup I feel the same way - I was told one would at least be doodled. Neither were. That's a lie.

I know that Lori asked for a doodle last night and Joe said that he "really didn't have a good one" for this book, or something like that. He did add the flames to her copy I think, but I guess he isn't really happy with the way they look.

Lori, please correct this information if I got it wrong!

Was this Water Street saying that he wouldn't do a doodle? I asked for a flatsigned version from them but if he could do a doodle that would be great and I got no response on that. Book came and it had the flame doodle and his little comment about the doodle. Sucks that he isnt doing it more but I guess I feel lucky that I got one on this book. I have a doodle in all of my signed firsts from him.

Water Street is in New Hampshire and Waterstones is in the UK (mostly). I'm a customer of both, and I get them mixed up sometimes.

My BAM copy just arrived. The ISBN is on the back of the jacket in the usual place. Also, this copy is the same as the photos you posted earlier showing "...specially bound by the publisher." on the signature page and it has the gold "Signed First Edition" sticker. The DJ on my copy was torn so will see if I can get a replacement.

Powell's here in Portland had the book on the shelves. I managed to find a couple of the signed ones. Here is how my copies stack up:

    The sticker on the front
The ISBN on the back of the dustjacket is the "Hardcover" edition listed on the copyright page
The tipped in sheet is upside down. On both copies

So, what is different about the B&N or BAM versions???

    Thoughts?

The signature sheet should read: "This signed edition has been specially bound by the guy who was hired and fired on the same day"

Thanks for the info. So the BAM edition is the same as the '...specially bound...' Edition, that's one version less to order I'm curious if the B&N edition is the same. I received a shipping notification from B&N yesterday but it'll take a week or two before it's in my hands. Curious to know why these store editions received different ISBNs though...

I picked up a signed copy with tipped in sheet from a local independent here in Toronto yesterday. They had two boxes of them and all had the signature sheet bound in upside down.
