28 Weeks Later has the most intense opening I have ever seen.

Casino Royale is top 3 Bond.

Some people must not have seen C.R.A.Z.Y. because it's a wonderful movie. Also, The Mothman Prophecies is such a singular film, too. I hope it can do better.

I was literally coming to ask about 28 Weeks Later. I enjoyed 28 Days Later so much when I saw it for the first time that I didn't want to taint it with any sequels (especially since, if I'm remembering, the original cast isn't in it). So, question is: should I give it a watch? Is it a good sequel rather than a cash-in on the name recognition of 28 Days Later?

Also, I know I'm in the minority here but I enjoyed Quantum of Solace more than Casino Royale.

I think the lack of the original cast serves it well as, although it's certainly related to the first film, it concerns a different set of people. I think it builds on the first one, rather than trying to repeat or rehash.

Yup. It builds on the first one, and adds in its own memorable set pieces. Definitely worth a watch.

Not that it matters, but I must confess, I was confused when I voted, I didn't realize 28 weeks later was a sequel, and was thinking of 28 days later. I don't think I have seen 28 weeks later. Oh well, I'll be more careful in future rounds.

It's worth a watch. I love the opening and while the film kind of takes a bigger budget action turn, I don't think it takes away from the original.

As for Quantum of Solace, it's about as vanilla as a Bond film can get. What makes it better than Casino Royale for you? It's by fare my least favorite Craig Bond film.

Honestly, I can't remember many specifics about the plots of either one. I do remember thinking that Quantum was more engaging, better paced, and easier for me to follow. Plus, I tend not to enjoy the pre-requisite "Bond" stuff (poker games, double-crosses, etc.), which featured so heavily in the set-up of Casino, so I guess it makes sense that the reasons other people didn't like it are why I did.

I'd rank them Skyfall, then Quantum, then Casino. I haven't seen Spectre yet.

Let me know what you think Ricky. I watched it when it first comes out but remember very little about it, except that I didn't really care for it. Maybe it's because I loved the first so much? But all this talk about it has me curious about giving it another shot.

Last night I went through the list of movies in the tournament, and went through netflix to see if any of the movies I had wanted to see in the past from this tournament were on Netflix. I must have looked for over a dozen films, but only 1 was available, Panic Room.
I'll try amazon prime in a few days.

You can always also try https://www.justwatch.com/ It's a good search engine for finding where something is streaming. It's not always 100% accurate for showing all available streaming options but very close most of the time.

Honestly I've made my peace with a lot of the extreme plot-convenient devices that Skyfall uses. Most blockbusters use the same plot driving mechanisms. Even relatively air tight stories like Dark Knight have the Joker doing the same kinda stuff. Par for the course.

    2. Skyfall
    3. Spectre
    4. Quantum of Solace

Just Watch is a must-have app for any movie fan.
