Whether or not (and we still don't know; likely never will) Wrightson intentionally, unintentionally, comically, subtlety, or subconsciously drew the person to resemble SK is a fun question. I only asked if anyone else saw the resemblance that I perceived.
I think the person looks like SK. No one else need agree, and others are welcome to disagree.
So far no one has said they perceived that the person resembles Carlos detweiller (or Mr. Jackson), nor Randall Flagg (or Mr. Smith), but a few members have commented that they themselves see the resemblance to SK.

P.S. The erudite comment was meant to acknowledge that you are not only highly educated, but also acknowledged as highly knowledgeable in regards to matters involving SK-flattery if you will. I believe you meet the requirements in both regards.

The date on this artwork is 1978 & the date on Mr. King's introduction is 1980. I doubt If Mr. Wrightson had a clue that Mr. King would be doing the introduction at that early date & this book being their 1st (so called together) book (Creepshow 1982 & Cycle of the Werewolf 1983) The chances of the image being based on Mr. King are slim & none. IMHO

So I debated purchasing this one....It's the original cover art to the Viking edition of Gerald's Game by artist Rob Wood. I contacted the gallery it's being held at as the price wasn't listed on the site. The price is $2500.
