How'd you manage to get a number 1?
Unless you've been sworn to secrecy.

One is, like, totally my number at CD, bra. Thought I told you. No, really, I just lucked out I guess. Pretty happy about it too considering Masterton is one of my favorites.

Thank you, Frank! Itís funny how you had said if you bought this Masterton youíd have to buy the rest of the Signature Series. After seeing this book in person, I think Iím in that same predicament.

I never heard of these guys, I don't think I have anyway. But the books are nice.

I hate to say it, but I find Ramsey Campbell particularly unreadable. He does drone on so!

Thanks, pal. Iíve only read one of his books and there was definitely a lot of droning on. I had a hard time getting through some of it. There were parts that I really enjoyed, though. Particularly the antagonist. Really freaked me out.

If youíre a fan of Lovecraft and ever in the mood for reading an author youíve never read, try The Ritual by Adam Nevill. Itís one of my favorites and a good scare.

I think I've read almost all of Lovecraft. I used to work at Chrysler in the salvage and then the car battery charging department, and was able to goof off and still do my duties and read a book a day. No wonder cars cost so much!

Very nice, Adam. Some of those covers are (awesomely) creepy.

I love Lovecraft, but the covers for virtually every edition of his work turn me off (I don't know why, and it's just my taste, of course).

I did have (and probably still do have, somewhere) the gray one (The Tomb) in the upper left of the photo. I had a few of those style paperbacks, and those covers I liked.

(Anyone looking for a nice Lovecraft cover should look up Folio Society's recent editions, if you haven't seen them already - spectacular).
Always looking to rent out a hidden floor above or below an old library, preferably brick or stone with hidden passageways. No pets.

Oh man, I keep forgetting to pop in here. Great Bloch and Lovecraft adds - those old Lovecraft pbs always had great covers.

When I was just getting into collecting I found a few old Lovecraft hardcovers (likely Arkham House edition but canít remember) and I chose a beat up first edition of The Talisman over them because I liked the cover more.

Thanks for the tip about Folio Society. I didnít know about those. Coincidentally I was just looking at their Matheson books and realized theyíve got a ton of cool stuff. Relatively affordable, too.

No worries, bud. Thanks! I probably already told you this but The Dunwich Horror was one of the first books I bought as a collector. Wish I could find more Lovecrafts from that publisher.

I like the way you think

It's nice and fun to collect well-known books and famous authors - but it's a true bibliophile, who, upon reading a book that they enjoy, immediately starts looking for S/L or first edition copies. And signed, too!
