Does anybody know what page the Kubrick & Shining reference is at?
I've been looking for it tonight but cant find it. I believe that steve explains just after that youngster (filmmaker) takes more risks or something like that, but I would like the actual quote

    It is chapter 8.

“I’ve seen Paths of Glory at least a dozen times. It’s one of Mr Kubrick’s finest. Much better than The Shining and Barry Lyndon, in my opinion, but of course he was much younger when he made it. Young artists are much more likely to be risk-takers, in my opinion.”

Quick search in Kindle. Not sure what the page number is though.

I could have sworn that I saw a picture of The Outsider on this site that had a fore-edge graphic of the silhouette that is on the cover... but I can't find reference to it in this thread or a few of the others in which I looked.

Did I imagine this? If not, what edition is it, and does anyone know of any that are up for sale? I think fore-edge art is really cool and am intrigued...

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

Don't feel too bad, I'm making a fortune renting all your books out as read/return copies.....
