Another 3 for me. An ok book, but nothing I'm pining to re-read anytime soon.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

    3.5.

Pretty good read. Not quite what I'd call a classic, but had a number of things going for it and nothing really to complain about.

4.5 I really loved this book, except for that horrible ending. So I had to knock half a point off.

I enjoyed the ending to this one. It felt a little misplaced however it reminded me of Lovecraft.

I liked the ending in part because it reminded me of Lovecraft; it was like a real slap in the face at the end of a story that wasn't that happy to begin with.

King's had his share of wonky endings; this was the opposite for me (it came out of left field in a good way).

I would have rated higher if not for that blasted ending.

One of the King books that captured my imagination much like The Tommyknockers. I gave it a 5. It revived the 10 year-old boy in me (No Tommy...I have never had a 10 year-old boy "in" me.)

    His best "retirement" book.

The way the book ended is weird (not necessarily bad) but the story was all right. It was lean and mean, and that was nice of King. I'm getting tired of the overwritten door stoppers.
