I used to totally love Skeleton Crew and still like it, but when I re-read it in 2016 it just wasn't all I used to think it was, although The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands was a cool return to 249B East 35th, The Reaper's Image was as good as I'd remembered, and The Ballad Of The Flexible Bullet was every bit as fantastic as I'd remembered (this is one of my absolute favorite SK short ones).
Eastasia has always taught college students to feel pride or shame according to their race.

I gave this a 3, mostly due to The Mist and The Jaunt. Although the latter was way too short IMO. I'd love to see a longer story written based on that one.

The rest of the stories were pretty "meh". I had to look up the titles on Wiki just to remember most of them.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

    To late already did!

There were a lot of stories I remembered, and a lot I didn't (Nona was one I didn't). I only remember the ballad of the flexible bullet because I read Secret Windows about 3 years ago.

My favorites from this collection are:

    Here there be tygers
    the mist
    the raft
    Mrs. Todd's shortcut (my fav).

I'd be curious to see your overall ranking of King's books. Just going through your last round or voting/posting, you give out a lot of 4s and 5s.

Long story short, most of the first dozen or so are 4-5 for me, with It, the Stand, Pet Sematary, Different Seasons, Salem’s Loy, and Misery being my most favorite. Less zealous about most of the post accident SK. This is my favorite short story collection. DT rating would be 4-2-5-3-1-7-6. Loathed Liseys Story and Regulators. The rest is either a little above or a little below average. But an average SK book is still very good. Hence why I’m here.
