of the first 5 Bachman books, all read around the same time, (when Thinner came out) this is the one I remember most.

King captured the feeling of claustrophobia and panic in this story perfectly - a true classic!!!
Possibly the tensest, most gripping thing I’ve ever read, right up to the end. I will never forget my first read.

Actually I liked the movie too. If you think of it as an Arnold movie rather then a movie "based" on a SK (RB) book, then I think you will enjoy it more. (at least its not the Lawnmower man, ouch!)

One of the few I have not read yet. I saw the movie many times as a kid though. Interesting to hear it's nothing like the film.
Anyone else think the book could be turned into a pretty good Black Mirror episode?
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
The movie (which I suppose could be enjoyed as vacant popcorn fare if viewed without consideration of the source) missed every point of the original work.
