Simon & Schuster Canada and Indigo have announced that on Friday, August 4, tickets will go on sale to see internationally bestselling author Stephen King and fellow author, and son, Owen King discuss Sleeping Beauties (published by Scribner on September 26, 2017). This marks their first ever joint-appearance in Canada. The event will be in Toronto on Thursday, October 5, at Koerner Hall, at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning where over 950 people will have a chance to hear the authors speak about their wildly provocative and gloriously absorbing father-son collaboration novel.

This exciting evening will commence at 7:00pm and each ticket will guarantee entry to the author talk as well as one hardcover copy of Sleeping Beauties. There will not be a public signing or author meet-and-greet, however, 400 of the distributed copies of Sleeping Beauties will be pre-signed by both authors and randomly distributed to attendees upon exiting the event.

Tickets can be purchased beginning Friday, August 4, 2017, at 10:00am EST online at http://performance.rcmusic.ca/tickets/seats/50601, by phone at (416)-408-0208, or in person at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning at 273 Bloor Street West, Toronto. Ticket prices are $50.00 CDN, and include one (1) copy of the book (retail value $39.99), including all taxes and service fees. Tickets will be assigned seating and will be limited to four per person.

The answer is...

it depends.

Some venues will require: one ticket, one person, one book.

Some might give you four books if you have four tickets.

The books are available at the end of the event.

If you need a person to pick up the book for you then you must employ a "mule." If you do so, be careful. A "mule" is capable of running.

If the "select your seat" interactive seat selector is accurate, there are only about 50 upper balcony seats left.

You know, I usually keep my mouth shut and don't try to stir up controversy, but these type of shenanigans really irk me. So you are going to deprive two people the opportunity to see SK and OK so you can double your chance at an autographed book? I can tolerate mules, if they are someone who is mildly interested in the event, but to be your own mule and to leave seats without butts in them seems selfish to me. I even have less issues with scalpers as at least the seats will be filled by someone who wants to be there.

If tickets have been on sale for several days, then that would be OK, since everyone had a reasonable chance to get a ticket. If it doesn't sell out then I would have no issue with this.
