I got tickets for Hudson Valley. Mostly painless except for the 20 delay this morning before they activated the online ticket sales but it sure beats standing in line all night. I wonder if that venue is less popular since there were still tickets this afternoon for 900 seats?

Soooo....there is potentially one new site for a Sleeping Beauties signing. The Savannah Book Festival hinted this morning that while visiting Simon & Schuster they might have a certain author coming to the festival next year. Of course, they didn't hint at which, merely posted a pic of Sleeping Beauties. That would be terrific though - finally, another signing close to me!

King did this one a couple years ago when promoting 11.22.63. It was a buy the new book get any book signed. The only downside is I think they did not sell tickets in advance. You had to make the trip and get in line without any assurance you would make the cut but it turned out fine.

It's odd to me that hundreds or thousands of people will stand in line all night for tickets like they did a couple years ago in Pittsburgh but online tickets took days to sell out.

If your referring to the Sewickley End Of Watch event, there where only 600 tickets. If the book store that hosted it sold tickets on line it would have sold out in one or two hours. How many seats for the mid Hudson event? More than double Sewickley?

It is 800 seats at Hudson Valley. My guess from eyeballing the Sewickley line is that there were that many people in line that morning (counting those that took a look at the line and decided to pass). It just surprises me that so many people would spend a chilly night in line but the tickets for HV took a few days to sell.

Shoot... I was hoping it was going to be in a northern suburb, instead of southwest of the city. Looks like I may just be going to the Milwaukee stop.
