Yeah, endings aren't necessarily spoilers. I've nominated two ending scenes now. Paths of Glory's ending has nothing to do with the rest of the story, and the ending to Synecdoche, New York is slightly spoilerish, but doesn't really give up any information which alters the film. If anything, you're just missing context which gives the ending such weight.

Oh, I'm goin' slap happy! I'm goin' slap slap happy! Slappity slapping ya, teachin' ya a lesson for comin' in my house!

I really wanted to nominate the montage at the beginning of Up, but it's not really a scene.

Ok, this one wasn't on my radar until I was watching a NCAA game and I heard the crowd chanting something, and the rhythm of the chant reminded me of this scene, which I always thought was uplifting.
    Spoiler:

I don't get it, why are you guys retracting your nominations? This is just going to make things confusing especially if they've been seconded or if you've already seconded films on. If Matt doesn't get to it soon I'll try to update the list later. All we have to do is link the nominations to the scene so people can see them.

So Tommy, of all the movie scenes you could have chosen, the 'Helicopter Dawn Attack' from Apocalypse Now, the 'Philadelphia Steps' from Rocky, the 'Here's Looking at you kid' from Casablanca, or Marilyn Monroe's 'Subway Dress' from The Seven Year Itch - you believe that the greatest piece of cinematic achievement, is in fact... A fart scene!!!! LOL!

So Tommy, we should just forget about scenes such as the 'Helicopter Dawn Attack' from Apocalypse Now, the 'Philadelphia Steps' from Rocky, the 'Here's Looking at you kid' from Casablanca, or Marilyn Monroe's 'Subway Dress' from The Seven Year Itch, eh? The greatest piece of cinematic achievement, is in fact... A fart scene!!!! LOL!
Damn straight! It was the first fart scene in film history. In it's way, it helped to humanize cinema just a bit further. I'm counting on some of those other scenes getting nominated so I went with what I felt like. I could have taken it a step further and nominated the ending scene from Pink Flamingos, which actually led to legislation being passed.

I hear you. I think it's best to get all videos in here. I think I got them all, except for the ones that had already been seconded. I just didn't get around to updating the list, but hopefully Matt will be back to update it soon. And then there is always the search thread feature at the top to find the video more quickly in the thread if the videos are not yet added to the list on the first page.
