Interesting interview with yet another person I owe money to.

I seem to recall King wasn't a big fan of the Centipede Salem's Lot due to the size of the book. My recollection is that there were some hard feelings.

Short version: He loved it - then he complained about its grandiosity - then he went on to approve many, many limiteds with other publishers, many of which were much more expensive than Centipede's.

Paul, Joe, and Jerad are quite the "big three"! Together they are responsible for some of the most beautiful books out there.

Very cool of you to do these interviews, Paul.

Yep! And, most of those other limited's were not only way more expensive- they were nowhere near as wonderful, either. Oh well, as Jerad says in the interview, that book gave him the seed money to get his great press off the ground.

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
