Hell no. I'm going to put a 23 in it and probably make another video out of it because that's all that brings me joy anymore. But I will never part with that book. It's in my will.

I think that video was your best to date. I was going to offer to take it back and do it for you, but just read your post above and will await the follow up video with the numbering by Jeff hisself.

Jeff could have Paul number a lick em and stick em bookplate and then he could just slap it in his book.

Maybe do the 2 and take a long break. Recoup, regain your composure, and rest. Then write the 3.

If Paul did that I'd end up framing it and putting it with the rest of the Suntup Shrine in my basement. And my book would still be unnumbered. No, I just have to do it. Would have been cool to do it yesterday on 2/3. But OH WELL. Now I have to wait until the 23rd.

Thank you! And thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it, but I'd be sick with worry while the baby traveled the country. Besides, I'm looking forward to the chance to finish the book.

With the DNA on the lick em and stick em bookplate, you could create a Paul Suntup clone.

Sure, there are ethical implications ... but if the clone can design and publish lettered editions like the original? Totally worth it.

Since Suntup is open to different areas of literature, I may as well float one of my bright ideas that I've been hoping Folio Society would get to, but never has: a set of the works of Frederick Douglass, Ida B. Wells, and Booker T. Washington, all of whom were born into slavery (Wells was born to a slave mother in 1862, in case anyone wants to pick nits) and had important things to say. Maybe the audience for this wouldn't be huge, but it should be.

This is intriguing. I'll also need to clone Becca though. And then raise them. This is going to be far more expensive than just buying the books.

Wouldn't clones of Paul and Becca just be second editions and therefore not as collectible??
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I think they would be more like Paul and Becca Rebound with high collectibility.
