I agree with a few others - Blood Meridian is considered McCarthy's masterpiece. If one were to pick a McCarthy to give the treatment, that would be the sweet spot for me (especially if it would mean McCarthy would potentially sign)...
I would be thrilled with the Road. I recently read it, and I thought it was great. Bleak, but great. Looks like I'll have to check out Blood Meridian next!
Paul, I know you are busy but could you please check your PM?

WOW. They both look outstanding. That engraving on the numbered looks awesome. Can't wait for this one either. The lettered looks pretty cool as well. I have never seen binding like that for the lettered. And I am sure that will have some heft since it is slate.

These look like another beautiful production from Paul. I fully applaud the Coptic Binding on the lettered- which looks stunning. Nice to see someone pushing the Book Arts boundaries in our little pond. They look killer, Paul!
Yep this one was definitely the most apt:
That is an awesome binding on the lettered! And with the slate, even cooler

Lot going on in Paul's world!
Hey Paul or Becca, did you guys try to get McCarthy to sign the edition? If so, what did he say (in addition to the obvious no)? Like did he reference his son or express any regret or anything? Just curious

I couldn't be more excited about this release. This is a fine book, and I would love to own a limited edition of it. The Suntup editions look pretty great.

Yes we did ask for his signature but even though McCarthy approved of our edition, he did not want to sign and we had to respect his wishes. There was no further information provided, however it makes sense knowing what we know about the personal nature of the story and the signed copies for his son. For Paul, even though he would have liked for it to be signed, he felt so strongly about the novel and that it really deserved a special limited edition treatment.
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
I like the use of the Coptic binding for the lettered edition.
A friend of mine frequently makes books using that method, but this is the first time that I've seen a limited employ it.
