Default Great Music - Tournament Finals: Semifinals (Matchup 11 of 13)

For this finals poll, please choose one track to move on to the Finals.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Simon and Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence (1964)

Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight (1981)

  2. #2

I'm holding off of voting for now. I need to give this some thought. I believe I like the Phil Collins song more but I really appreciate The Sound of Silence.

though it will never be the same for me. Every time - every f***ing time - I listen to it in the future, I'll think: hey, that's the song that kicked Stairway out of the contest. And my blood will boil.

    don't know about unexpected

in the 60s and 70s rounds we kept making great songs face other great songs and kick them out

thus, we are left with far fewer songs that could be real rivals to one another than we would have been if the whole contest was only about the 60s and 70s

(because, the way bears see it, all great music was written exactly iin those two decades)
