That sketch is funny because I could totally see it happening.

Are we surprised by this?
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Honestly, I thought the entire thing was a publicity stunt.

I laughed:
A question for the older SNL watchers out there:
I've been looking for something lately and just can't find it. Many years ago, the host did a monologue that imitated the Goodfellas POV introduction scene (where we see Jimmy Two-Times say "I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers"). I remember it was hilarious, but I can't remember who the host was and I can't find the bit on YouTube.
I am 99% sure the host was not in Goodfellas.
I think the host may have been Alec Baldwin, but I may well be imagining that.
Does anyone remember this?

Brings to mind the "Joe Pesci Show"!!! lol
If I recall there was a show where the real, DeNiro and Pesci showed up. lol
This was amazing:

I think I've watched maybe one episode this season. I got tired of staying up and wasting an hour and a half of TV time when there's so much other quality, consistent shows on my list.

I always just catch up Sunday morning with my coffee. It's an institution...
Funny you say that, Mike. I forgot I had recorded Carell's episode, so I watched it on Sunday night and once I FF'ed through commercials, the music, and Weekend Update (which I really don't care for), it WAS about 40-45 minutes. I really think the show would be stronger if they got rid of the musical guests and Weekend Update and focused more on recurring characters.

It's always been hit-and-miss, but they still land some good ones.
Like this:

Well, I agree with you about the musical performances, but the Weekend Update has become their bread and butter, and not just because of the our current political climate. SNL has very few recurring characters/sketches anymore. For some reason they can't seem to find them like they used to. However, the few recurring characters they do have usually show up on the Weekend Update.
Of course, since Bobby Moynihan left we lost Drunk Uncle and Anthony Crispino.

So this is one of the best SNL promos, right?
Thought the Damon episode was the strongest one of the season for sure.

Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
