I ordered a couple Charlie Choo Choo books from Amazon. I got two 3rd printings and they have some odd sticker on the back. The worst part, the third book I got was the anomaly book but it had a large sticker over the existing sticker. I took the large sticker off and it took the original sticker off and it was covering some damage .

What kind of damage? Besides the damage was there anything there? Any printing they were covering up?

Technically that is a 3rd edition not a 3rd printing.

Bad because now it has less value. Not necessarily because of the sticker being off but because of the small tear on the book itself .

Third printings are not usually worth much. Neither are third editions. Rare exceptions exist for some antiquarian books and a few popular works.

Correct Bruce. I order CTCC from Amazon and it showed up that way. The sticker was a long bar code with numbers on it. Maybe 1/2" longer then the original but a totally different one.

Thanks a ton Kris, but keep yours. I already had one for my personal collection. I was seeing what the gamble of ordering from Amazon would bare. For 9.31, what I paid for the book, it was worth it to share what was under the sheets. So to speak .

This was the clue I used to try to track down a anomaly version.... Ordered book from STRAND $13.49 + $3.99 =$17.48 gamble.
Book arrived today .
at this point in time THE PACKAGE IS STILL UN-OPENED.
