Arrived home just a bit ago:
Your package looks way better than mine.. Looks like could have potential survivors.

We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.

Yes, I was lucky (after almost 60 days). The book is perfect.
Like I said before....
Spoiler:
I took a gamble on a book I ordered blind on the internet from a clue someone dropped.....Have my fingers crossed......
Glad it finally arrived and in good condition, Jerome.
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....

Congrats Bruce! Too bad about the stick on the front though.
Well done. Hopefully the sticker on the front can be easily removed.
I don't mind the stickers.. I think it helps add to the provenance of the books journey.
We now know that STRAND got the books on 12/20/16.Simon & Schuster is also based in N.Y. so these could have been the 1st ones sold.
I don't think you will want the provenance for the many damaged UK limiteds...
Always remove the price stickers. After a while the chemicals in the glue seep out leaving a stain on the cover.
Edit: The new Strand stickers do remove easily. I remember the old ones were a bitch. I actually complained to them about it.
The absence of a thing, this can be as deadly as the presence. The absence of air, eh?
The absence of water? The absence of anything else we're addicted to.

I for one would like to know why so many were WATER DAMAGED.... Chewed up by a machine I can understand...But left out in the rain? Did a truck over turn and they spent the night in a snow bank? Is it just DROOLfrom people that missed out on getting THIER orders in on time?
I've also been intrigued by what happened for the books to have ended up this way. And of all the books they must ship out, it had to be this one didn't it.
I see Glenn Chadbourne has remarqued 200 1st editions & wants $200 a POP....I THINK I'LL PASS...ENOUGHT IS ENOUGHT!
