"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

Just finished it. One day binge! Really enjoyed the show. Loved the 80's nostalgia. All the actors were good. Winona was great. Lots to like about this show.

Just watched it all this week. Really enjoyed it. It did remind me alot of King, and I loved the 80s feel to it. I really hope they make another season.

I don't know if it's every song (I think it is), but here's a YouTube playlist for the songs featured in the show:

Loved it. Just finished it in a day (it's 3:44am here, fyi), lol. 4.63 out of 5 rating, that is DAMN high on my ratings list. In a near-perfectly enjoyable show, the standouts for me were the acting and the music. Tangerine Dream-inspired for sure, it was so damn familiar, especially because Legend is one of the soundtracks I put on when it's sleepy-night-night time. And seriously, how great was the girl that played Eleven? Fantastic and heartbreaking. She's going places.

So again, loved it, looking forward to season two, whatever they do, I'm there.

I loved it as well and binged it all in one sitting last Saturday; 8 episodes was the perfect length IMO. My one minor nitpick however is the use of CGI which was incongruous with the whole 80's nostalgia vibe that they were going for (well it really stuck out to me anyway). I like my FX old school & practical, damnit!

    http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/28/12...gs-coming-soon
Netflix’s new show Stranger Things might have captivated audiences with its nods to some of the classic films of the 1980s, but one of the best things about the show is the fantastic soundtrack that accompanies it.

The show follows a small town in 1983 Indiana when a boy goes missing one night. Hailed for its nostalgia for films such as E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Goonies, and others, it’s scored by an incredible synth-based score composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the Austin-based band S U R V I V E. The show’s soundtrack perfectly suits the show’s somber and dark tone, and fans of the show have been asking if a soundtrack would be released.

Due to the demand, Netflix announced yesterday that a soundtrack is coming:

We hear you loud and clear. The #StrangerThings Official Soundtrack is coming soon. Over. pic.twitter.com/PYHI4MJUYN
    — Stranger Things (@Stranger_Things) July 27, 2016

There’s no release date for the soundtrack just yet, but if you can’t wait for the it, you can find the band’s music on Bandcamp. The band also has a new album coming on September 30th, titled RR7349.

If that doesn’t hold you over, you can listen to a playlist of the rock music that was used in the show over on Spotify.

Stranger Things is now streaming on Netflix.

Came across this earlier today. It's a side by side comparison of Stranger Things and it's 80's counterpart that it's playing homage to. There's probably spoilers so if you haven't watched the whole series yet, maybe wait to watch the video.

There was a similar nod to A Nightmare on Elm Street when Nancy (in both) is setting up booby traps in the apartment.

Also, keeping Eleven in the basement and feeding her Eggo waflles was an ET nod.

I loved it too. Fantastic show. The soundtrack had lots of good throwbacks, but the score really did it for me. The kids were great, Hopper was the perfect leading adult with all his faults, and Winona's character gave me chills a couple of times.

    Just a wonderful, unexpected surprise.
