Thanks so much.
King getting into more and more literary mags. Awesome.
Give the man a Pulizter, you fucks.
I'm shocked that this was posted on March 31 and yet there's been no peep about this story till today.
Cool, thanks for posting. I ordered the print edition.
Tempted to skip the short stories for the next year or so... just so the inevitable collection in 2021 is a more exciting for me.
Trust me, I feel like shit
But then again, a new King story, woo!
THANKS! Ordered the print edition immediately

By the way, if King keeps to the average of seven years between story collections, a new one would be coming in 2022.
A surprise King story that no one here knew about? This is like the literary equivalent of Beyonce releasing an entire surprise album.

That was awesome. Thanks Steve.
Great story! Very well written, extremely moving tale. I love how King will just sometimes quietly publish a story in one of these literary magazines with no publicity whatsoever (like "The Dune" in Granta or "Memory" in Tin House). And I love how VQR just had King's name at the bottom of the author list on the cover (with no other text or info). Like, oh, by the way, a Stephen King story is in this issue, no biggie.
That was very enjoyable. It would be cool if he did a follow up in the future.
That's the first thing I've actually read with my eyes by King in a long time.
King is the great gramps figure and the cookie jar represents his books and stories/ideas? The kid could be Joe or Owen. Or maybe not. Good story though.
did someone say that this was going to be in the paperback edition of Bazaar of Bad Dreams or was that just a guess?
