That's probably why the book had this sticker on the front, eh?

Absolutely -- there are going to be wrist injuries from this one.

The details read just a bit different.

Capacity is up to 5,000 people (though I was told they are reducing that to ~2,500). 400 pre-signed books will be randomly distributed at the end of the event.

I've done two -- one will be in Dead Reckonings later this year and the other in the next issue of CD magazine and online a day or three before the book is published.

Interesting, it’s embargoed until the 26th in the UK...
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

    Over here as well.
Seems some bookstores don't mind breaking the rules.

Exactly. I've purchased many new US/UK King books before the official release date. I think that non-US/UK bookstores that sell English King books often receive their stock plenty in advance. Some of them just pile the books on the shelves and sell them right away.

By the way, I'm curious how many non-Anglophone countries actually sell English King in addition to the local translations. Probably not many countries besides the Netherlands (but I may be wrong).

Yes, I got an email recently informing me that my pre-ordered copy was on it's way to W H Smiths. That was Saturday, I believe, so I'll likely get it tomorrow or Tuesday (okay that's the 26th, so the release date, anyway).
