I believe that Roland was Jakes true father, despite his ' parents ' in the story.
He even called him Father.
Eddie was Cuthbert. On some level of the Tower Roland has a son, and his name is Jack Sawyer, aka Jake Chambers.
Yes

You had me until Jake is Jack. I believe them to be two completely separate entities, characters, people, whatever. As for the poll question, I don't know how to answer it. I think all of the Tet considered Roland their "true" father in some way, I at least remember Eddie and Jake saying so. What this means I am not sure. I don't think it means there are other versions of them on other levels that have another Roland as their father. I don't think there is another Roland. I'd say "yes" he is Jake's metaphorical true father in that he provided him a truer love than Elmer Chambers, but Elmer Chambers is his father nonetheless.
EDIT: btw, you may want to fix "Roalnds" name up there in the poll
Damn, and I thought you were getting deep and mystical! Yes, to me Roland was Jake's true father.

Jack/Jake.
C'mon.

Jake = Jack though? Interesting thought..I'll have to mull that one over.

Yes, they are similar names. That's the truth. I'm not sure that's compelling enough evidence for them being the same "person." what else you got?
Well that Jack might be Jake's twinner. I've never thought of that before.

it's intriguing theory for sure, i'd like to hear more about it...
Sai King and I are linked via telepathy.
He didn't know it, but he was channeling my past lives when he wrote the DT.
I intend to go to where he lives and take this up over wine him him.

I believe Roland was Jake's true father. I said it somewhere else, but he was a better parent to that kid than his biological parents ever were.
Not too sure about the Jack/Jake connection thought.

Both are boys. And warriors.

And the earth is round. So?
Still not convinced.

While it is an interesting idea, I'm not convinced either.

It depends on what you mean by father and true father. Yes, Roland was Jake's true father but not his genetical father.
Roland would have understood.
They just held Roland in high respects. Roland guided them and instructed them and helped them be better people. That's all I ever seen father as, just a sign of the utmost respect.

Jake = Jack is not cutting it for me either. King has many young/adolescent boys as heroes of his storys, I think it says more about King's fondness for childhood than it does for correlations between characters.
and maybe Wolf is Oy. Think about it. Both furry. Both talk. That's proof, right?
