I loved Sheemie, too but I prefered him in Mejis when he was that simple boy.
Roland would have understood.
It's like in he Green Mile with John Coffey... I tend to want to take the broken guys home and mend them, take care of them... that's how I ended up bringing home so many foster animals before I met my husband, and probably why I was okay with dating a guy who had a daughter, and later marrying him...
Oh great nurturer me...
That's also why I like some of the bad guys... because I think there must be some good in them and I could fix them...
Still striving to be a super-hero *le sigh*

After reading about him last night, I was rather impressed with Nigel- the robot that helped Susannah to the New York/ Fedic door. The image of Nigel wandering through the tunnels and later awaiting someone (who would never come) to fix his eyes was very heart wrenching for me.
nigel was cool. he was everything andy wasn't
Rosalita - she was practical, funny, intelligent, independant...so much so i can forgive all those cheesy "gander" jokes she and Roland made. I hope the clearing at the end of Roland's path is Rosie's cottage
To pick a male character is much harder, there were so many I really enjoyed...but I'm going to go with Dinky Earnshaw...I have a real soft spot for him.
Well, after all that sim sex he deserves it!
yes, just don't let him write you any love letters with his special symbols
Now thats performance pressure!!
?? Not sure how innocent widdle ole me was brought into this conversation.. oh and Jayson, I do prefer 'Matthew' over 'Matt'. Thanks!

You make me suspicious when you pretend to be all nice!

Tick Tock Man! Not really the most major character, but definately the most fun character to read about.
Have you heard of people with short fuses? Well, I have no fuse at all, and there's a thousand could testify to it if I hadn't stilled their tongues for good.

Sheemie was also a favorite.

I liked Trudy a lot in SoS a lot. Her whole life changed during two minutes but she didn't start to cry or break down... she was strong.
Roland would have understood.
