I’ll remember to check the catalog first someday! Thanks. Any idea what market value is on these things?
Gerald winters has had one listed for 10k for a while now. It’s still available according to the website. There was some discussion a while ago, though, about the inscription making it less desirable than a regular copy.

Here is an example of what we were talking about. Gerald calls this "the rarest state". A lettered Gunslinger is exactly like a numbered Gunslinger.
Why is it worth a dime more? If the publisher is not willing to put anything more into the "Lettered State" other than a letter why would you pay more?
I am thrilled to buy a lettered like Paul's Misery, a fantastic production, and worth the premium price. I hope he has set the bar for other publishers to
put value in the "lettered" edition and not just the same limited edition with numbers and letters.

I tend to agree. The same could be said about the color of ink used on the limitation page. And really, by that logic, so it could for PCs. I’d guess the draw has something to do with uniqueness. For instance, a “this is letter A and there’s only one,” kind of thing.

I totally agree. If the only difference is the letter vs number or colour of ink, I couldn't care less. That's a whole level of obsessive collecting I couldn't dream of entering.

But when the production differs, I think that helps justify the price increase and demand.

Most of the early "Lettered" editions were not meant for public sale. They were for the Author's personal use and were the same as the numbered. They were not for sale to the public and didn't have a sale price.

Interested in the value --- if any --- of the following item. Apparently the majority of members here believe that King's signature was forged by his secretary. Still, I would think that an official SK letter from his office 30+ years ago would hold SOME value.

Would have been very cool to get a response from Kings office especially at that time. Its a neat item, but in this case i fear its value would be mostly sentimental.

That's a tough book. I don't even own one as the 2 or 3 I bought listed as Fine all had fade and I thus returned them.

$125-$150 max. I'd happily pay $225+ for a true mint copy.

Thanks Jerome. There’s an eBay listing at $350, but also with a Make Offer option, but it no longer sounds worth it.

It wont be like IT, but I tend to think that their value will increase with the release of the "DOCTOR SLEEP" movie
It may be time to get some while they are affordable...
