I'm not sure about an inscribed, but I have a flatsigned DZ with an older signature that's worth about $400.

what would be a good price to sell a Secretary of Dreams Vol2 S/L at? (I am not a professional seller, but DJ, book and traycase all look as-new to me)

I have listed one on ebay at less than the last sale price I found, but not getting many bites, so I suspect I have overpriced it!
I genuineley dont know an accurate price so I am happy to drop it lower if I've listed it at way over the odds (although I have a best offer option on it too).

    cheers!

You can generally get a matching set of 1 and 2 for around 750, so id think in the 350 range IMO

I have seen them go for under list price to 350. I would start at 300 and let it bid

I agree. I had one on eBay earlier this year. Starting bid of $295--no takers; relisted--no takers. Listed at $275 (or $265--don't remember exactly) -- 1 bid. The interesting thing was that the collector was from Germany and he had business here in DC in March, so I just held the book until his conference. Walked over to his hotel for hand delivery. We met in the hotel bar an had a couple of drinks while we chatted about S. King and book collecting.

I would pay $300 - $350 for a fine flatsigned Creepshow 1st (IF I had the money, which I do not at the moment). My dream is to get my very good copy signed by King in person, it's signed by Romero, Atkins and Savini so far, hopefully Joe Hill one day as well!

Mine was signed by King in about 86 (flat-signed) and then I had it signed by Romero and Savini. Great collectible.

He seems to feel the same way as your statement.

I am guessing he only wants to sign books he writes.

The case i heard of was a CGC comics collector tried to get him to sign a copy of Creepshow for encapsulating in a CGC Signature Series slab. Perhaps Joe is turned off by the commodification of his signature in that way (like some creators are) on a book that he didn't write.

He did politely refuse to sign the book when presented it. The collector in question came back to a message boards and proceeded to have a ginourmous hissy fit in which he went from being (self proclaimed) Joe Hill's biggest fan to cursing the man and his work because he wouldn't sign his Creepshow. (and selling his highly ranked set of CGC Locke and Key Comics) The meltdown was actually quite entertaining.

I personally feel like ANY creator, writer or artist, signs your stuff at their own convenience and in fact it is a gift to you, something to remember the fact that you actually met the person and expressed your appreciation for their work. If the signature (and the potential cash value of said signature on the collectibles market) is more of a priority for you, then you have your priorities out of whack. LOL

Not trying to put a damper on anyone's signing/collecting goals, but I believe it might be hard to get Joe Hill to sign the book. Who knows maybe you could, though

I would only want one signature in my US 1st Creepshow, and that would be Stephen King's, but I have quite a few othe King books that would be more important to have signed.

I'd also guess that he would agree to sign a picture of him in the movie, but let's admit it : the book is not related to him...
