Hi All,

I've got a couple of the S/L Stand Coffin (Bible) editions, and might be looking to sell one on. It's a low number (42), complete with the original shipping box from Doubleday. The Coffin and Book are in Fine condition, and the glassine wrapper is present.

The only issue is that someone has put stickers on the shipping box explaining what it is and who it's signed by, etc. I'm sure it doesn't deter from the value, but I am curious as to other peoples opinions. If I decide to sell it, I will try on here first before heading to Ebay, in case one of you lot is interested. I can provide pictures if people want,

I agree. If I buy a book the shipping box is either tossed or repurposed. I mean, it's a cardboard box.

When Cemetery Dance shipped me my remarqued copy of Doctor Sleep S/L, they reused a box that Simon and Schuster sent to them that contained copies of Mr. Mercedes and it has a sticker on the side that says "This box contains Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King Do Not Open Until June 3, 2014" I know it might be silly but I love that box!

I would never increase or decrease a bid based on the condition or availability of the original box. If I am looking on ebay and there multiple choices and they are in similar condition and price, I might give preference to the one with the original box (assuming the box indicates what its original purpose was).

I sometimes keep the boxes of things, if I think maybe someday I will sell it on ebay (more for packing purposes then selling). But this is mostly for my Lord of the rings statues from Sideshow Weta. I think I have only kept one box for a book (the Stand limited edition, which was bought off of ebay, I think).

With online buying being my main outlet, there's no way I could keep boxes. I'd have a room full of them if it weren't for my wife to remind me to through them in the recycle bin.
