I recently bought a numbered version for $300 unframed.

    Here's one on ABE for $375. http://www.abebooks.com/Letters-SIGN...e/880947091/bd

They were selling fairly steady at $250 for a while. They've been moving up steadily and so I bought a fine copy for $300. Framed and matted would add value, perhaps $200.

So even with the frame and matting $600 USD would be on the high side. Of course there would be more affordable shipping.

Get the seller's info and when the auction goes nowhere offer them less.

I can't find a sold ebay listing from this year. Perhaps I searched incorrectly.
After George sold his last copy I bought the next one that popped up on ebay for $600. But that was after I knew that there would not be anymore for $500. I think they are going to go up now that George it out of them. They were >$600 from CP so anywhere around there, I have been watching one that is starting bid at $800 with no bidders.
I Paid $420 for mine last July. Included free shipping as well (also no Whelan)
I bought the last one from George for $399 ($429 after shipping). It was on April 28th 2015.

(thanks again to Br!an for posting it in the intriguing ebay thread last year)

    No problem, mon.

It's hard to value them since there haven't been many for sale since George sold out. Though I agree that it's worth about $600 right now.

Is it the Knowing Darkness numbered traycased edition? Or I think there is a slipcased version?

Which is the "Deluxe"? TC version I take it? Is this only version with Whelan art? Where would art be? I can't remember if I ever checked....curiouser and curiouser...

    Edit: nevermind...found it: http://www.centipedepress.com/art/skart.html

There were three distinct states of the book.

    1. A slipcased version.
    2. A deluxe traycased version of 300 numbered copies signed by many of the artists. Some of these (maybe 10 or so?) had full page drawings by Michael Whelan laid in.
    3. A super-deluxe traycased version of Roman numeral copies bound in leather and accompanied by a portfolio of 20 large prints most of which were signed by the artists. Not sure the final number of these, probably 10 or so. This one is incredibly big.

#2 maybe 10 or so drawings....I don't have an accurate count, but I think this is low. I was at Michael's house once and he showed me at least 10 drawings he had done and said these were a "sampling" of the work....I was most impressed with a Barlow drawing in a coffin that he did....was spooky. I'm guessing the truer number may be closer to 25.

that assessment is correct...there were some (the Barlow one) that was pretty detailed, I saw some that had color in them, and others were not as detailed. I saw a whole variety that day.

So, I'm guessing you were looking at reproductions of the drawings? Digital images in a file? Or were you looking at actual drawings? I'm confused.

Is this the "Barlow" that you are talking about? It is the one I got in my copy of Knowing Darkness. I never thought of it as Barlow though. I've always liked it but secretly (well not so secretly anymore) wished that it was one of the Dark Tower related ones.

Is this the "Barlow" that you are talking about? It is the one I got in my copy of Knowing Darkness. I never thought of it as Barlow though. I've always liked it but secretly (well not so secretly anymore) wished that it was one of the Dark Tower related ones.

THAT'S THE ONE! Michael told me it was Barlow in his coffin

Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand

Well, then, Barlow it is! I guess I was equating the Nosferatu looking Barlow in the made-for-TV miniseries to everyone's interpretation of Barlow.

I was there with you at the Whelans! I remember he showed us several of the remarques and I agree with you that Barlow's one was one of the best ones.

I received one as well. I think I showed it here time ago.
