Because it's personalized, IMO the price will be less than a flatsigned copy. I predict flatisgned FK's will retail ~ $550+. Your copy (and mine) would likely sell for less. Maybe $300.
I think that's high brother. I have to say that $500 is tops on this...

I think considering the fakes, etc., I'd be inclined to give higher value for personalized copies, even if it was to a 'nobody.'

More words, more real, more money...

Totally personal preference, though. I like the inscriptions.

$300 - $350 max. The majority of value for a 'salem's Lot is is in the DJ. Unless you have access to a decent jacket to replace it with then save your money and be patient. You will pay less in the long run buying a better copy than trying to put one together.

Not always, but I agree that if you want to put one together you better start with the jacket. You can sometimes find a later printing with a first edition/second state DJ for a good price. Finding a decent 1st edition book with a crappy DJ is not hard and you can then marry the DJ and the book. I did this and it cost me $142 plus 2x shipping costs.

A couple of years. I'm pretty sure that both 2nd and 3d state DJs were used for both 1st and 2nd printing books. Meaning that 2nd printing books are good candidates for 2nd and 3d state DJs that probably often go unnoticed, and can be purchased cheaply with a bit of luck.

Look for books with gutter code Q41. That's the earliest I've seen after the true first (Q37).

    Thanks for the advice gents.
It's one of those things where I just don't know how much I'd drop on a nice copy in the future but might have a little spare funds that I could earmark for a lesser copy sooner rather than later. Good to know second printings can be found with first jackets.

I saw Betts listing both together for $275.
SOD1 on ebay right now, start bid $150 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/SECRETA..._qi=RTM2010724

SOD 1 can often sell around $200, and yet SOD 2 seems to sell much cheaper, usually around issue price if not cheaper.

I tried man for a year to get a Mckean signed only... No dice. He remarqued a handful and signed them. I think I paid $500 but have see them sell for $700. Tough to find. It took me a bit and it was the last one I needed for my artist set. I would dare say with only his signature not that much less as there are so very few. I hear he is a very odd duck when it comes to that. The Dameron signature only... $150'ish and with a basic Remarque $250'ish but he has done some elaborate ones and they have gone for up to $800. Quite easy to find though. I have a nice shot of Roland in mine and it was around $300 or so...
