Are you considering buying this copy? I would not pay $60 for it. My copy has the same toning of the DJ (the spine, back and flaps should actually be white) but virtually no chipping and/or edgewear and it cost me $75. There are lots of copies of this book out there and you will almost surely find a better book for a good price with a little patience.
Yeah, there's no point in paying $60 for a fairly crappy copy when you can pay $100 for one that will be much better. What's $40? Every time you see the nice copy on the shelf, you'll be glad you sprung for what is essentially the cost of a cheap date at Applebees.
$40 is a cheap date out???? Damn. Lucky I'm married I guess

I've seen this item listed and relisted for a couple months now and I apologize if it's been discussed - relatively new to the forum.
Curious about this listing - obviously priced too high, issues with the signatures or something as it hasn't sold. Could I get some insight from the experts here? What would be a fair price for something like this?

i have this in my list also - and i think the price is close to ok, high but close to ok, the problem is that its a sticky item, that needs the exactly one buyer who wants all of the books.
I wrote the seller for 2 of the 9 items, but he did not even answered.
Guess he could sell it broken faster..
Just a thought
a sec Gunslinger Signed by Whelan - 300 USD
PH Signed DT II - 150 ?
DT III With the Add-on 150 ?
DT IV 100 ?
DT V & VI - 250
DT VII - maybe 100 - 150 ?
Sisters and Wind - together maybe250 - 300 ?naa 200
All top end prices, but i guess around that value somebody would offer the books if s/he had only one out of the set.
Individual prices based on recent sales.
DT I 2nd edition signed by Whelan - $300- $350
DT II signed by Hale - $80 - $100
DT III Unsigned (it is a separate print that is signed) - $80 - $100 with print
DT IV Unsigned - $80 - $100
DT V, DT VI artist editions $150 each
DT VII signed by King and Whelan $400
LSOE Artist edition $150
TWTHK Artist edition $100
Package as a whole is prob $200 too high.
EDIT: also includes Grant Slipcases $40 + $20 + $20
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
If something is overpriced, it will not sell. Doesn't matter what it is.
You made me think of this listing. These haven't sold for more the $100 from what I can see, let alone $700.
Thanks everyone. I knew it was too high, but trying to put a finger on how high. Out of my price range anyways!
I own one of the Centipede deluxe Knowing Darkness editions, including the Michael Whelan remarque.
If I decided to sell the remarque, what would be a fair price?
It's in the same (mint) condition it came in.

As long as it's an appealing piece, it will be worth quite a bit more than $300.
