I might disagree with this. Last auction was a scrappy copy in bad shape and closed two weeks ago for $1330. The copy I posted for auction is a little better and as of last night (with a day to go) is at $1655. I would rate this near fine either.... but a pretty nice copy.

I think you got a GREAT deal...unsigned Salem's 2nd state at $1725? I still would only pay half that.....I know prices have gone up on Salem's but hard for me to see prices $1300+ for an unsigned copy unless book and DJ are mint.

Me personally...I like same numbers but I think a majority of collectors do not care...maybe with a Dark Tower set yes, but books not signed by King....I'd say no premium for having same numbers.

As for the PS Publications you list above...I'd put values at:

I would agree 100% David. But apparently there is a new group of collectors who think differently. I personally think they are paying too much for King books, but hey, good news for the sellers out there I guess.

I cannot believe the pricing on these Salem's. I followed Kris' auction to see what it would end at and my jaw fell off. That's two that have sold over a grand in recent months and the first one wasn't in the best shape.
As most of you know I very recently sold about half of my collection because I wanted to complete the firsts and focus on certain things. I found a Salem's first/2nd state on ebay, DJ had a little chipping and one small tear otherwise in good shape. The seller was from Maine(as am I) and he had it listed at over $500(can't remember exact amount) OBO. I offered $475 thinking there was no way he would accept but lo and behold he did! Thank god I got one before the prices soared to what they are. I ended up getting a nice Carrie 1/1 as well for $700
