Just in case someone has $17,500 burning a hole in their pocket. I am guessing the seller is a member here.

Personally I would not want an inscribed book on this project but that is cool! My thing is a newer signature as this is a new project.

I feel the same way about the inscription. ...unless it was "to Clay"! Not that it matters to me because I don't have a signed Dark Half. Guess my DR copy of this book will be one of the less valuable ones

Each to their own of course, but I fail to comprehend the aversion to inscriptions. When I first started collecting I preferred flat signatures, yet now my thought is the more ink from King’s pen the better. More than that, though, sometimes you get lucky with something witty or funny or symbolic written by King himself and no one else but you can say they have that. As is the case with Becca’s IT inscription, for example.

I like inscriptions. That is not what I am saying here. I do not feel the rebound project is right for it. King didn't inscribe that book.. he inscribed the trade and as I said... a long time ago FAR before this was even a thing. I think for the Rebound, you want a newer signature. I never said I don't like inscriptions just feel they are not the thing (for me) for this project.

I should’ve put a disclaimer in there that stated I wasn’t responding to your comment specifically, just the flatsigned vs. inscription debate in general. I see what you’re saying though... I don’t mean this argumentatively, but the same thing could be said about a flat signature, don’t you think? That King didn’t sign the rebound, he signed the trade? I just see it strictly as personal preference. You prefer flatsigned rebounds whereas others, including myself (not that it matters! Ha) may prefer inscribed rebounds.

I have no preference. I actually prefer an inscription if the person is of importance OR King has written something really cool. The flatsign would make just more sense if you had to choose between the two. My thoughts anyways. I guess then with a newer signature it looked as if King signed the rebound 'now' rather than a rebound signed copy. Hope that makes sense.

It makes sense. I think we’re in agreement on the thing. Just different preferences in this case. And from what I’ve learned, most collectors prefer flatsigned in general. Not a big deal, it just doesn’t make sense to me why flatsigned is more widely preferred. I should probably shut up about it, though, because it works to my benefit!

I agree. I was lucky enough to get a very recently dated King signature for this DH rebound project.

Hi folks. Today is the last day to get me a signed copy of the DH to rebind, for those who chose to do that. I would recommend that if anyone sent the book, but did not receive a confirmation from me, then please email me so that I can confirm that I have it. Use the contact form here. Thanks.

I'm in for a black but prefer the white, so maybe we could get together on this?

I think given RF's current health issues, Turgid is probably accurate....
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
