    Default Great Music - Round 1: 1985-1989 (Group 2 of 16)

During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

Aerosmith - Dude (Looks Like a Lady) (1987)

    Pet Shop Boys - It's a Sin (1987)

Dire Straits - Money for Nothing (1985)

U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name (1987)

    Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over (1986)

Chris de Burgh - The Lady in Red (1986)

    Roxette - The Look (1988)

A couple of good tunes here. I love the Crowded House tune. Pop DOES get it right occasionally.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.

Only one vote for "It's a Sin"? What a sin. Such a huge classic!

I can't speak for it being a classic (I've never even heard of it), but I gave it a listen and it certainly got a vote from me.

Peeps are just not Pet Shop Boys fans I guess. Or not fans of proper '80s music? I mean PSP epitomize the '80s sound.

More than a sin, it's practically heresy!

Fuck it. Seeing as the PSB are getting eliminated, I'm making sure Chris de Burgh comes along for the ride.... I fucking hate that song!!

Voted for Roxette, just to expedite that song's swift demise....
