I am having a hard time coming up with the perfect DT tattoo. I was hoping an artist at the Salt Lake Tattoo Convention this past weekend would be able to help but no one could (mainly because no one had read the books). So I thought maybe people here would have some ideas.
I want a DT tattoo, as I mentioned, but I don't want to go with the obvious images (i.e. the rose, guns, Tower, etc.) I want something that references something only careful readers and avid fans will notice.
One idea I had was to get the ice sculpture of Roland that was inside Blaine. But I imagine to get that it would need to be pretty big to capture all the detail and I don't want something too big and elaborate considering I am broke as a joke. But those are the lines I'm thinking along.
Any help, suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!!!!
AlChron77 - First, welcome to the site!
Have you looked at any of the DT comic books? They have a lot of very cool images.
Or, were you looking for something original?
Personally, I like the idea of a tattoo with David, Roland's Hawk... and of course, a small Ka symbol someplace.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am definitely looking for something original. I like the idea of a ka symbol and I love the idea of David, but I've seen those things a few times and I'm looking for something brand new. I think I might be being a little too picky about this.
I was actually thinking about getting a Big Coffin Hunters tat between my index finger and thumb but it wouldn't be very professional shaking a client's hand and have them see a coffin tattoo on my hand
Thanks for the suggestions!
Yeah, it's not always good to flash the Coffin Hunters at a potential income source!
You could always do a representation of the Gaurdians....

I had brushed over that idea before but now that you mention it I think I might try and put more thought into it. I think if done well it could turn out really nice. Thanks a lot for the help.
I'm still open to suggestions but I think I'm going to play with this idea for a bit and see if anything develops.

My boyfriend has guns on his shoulder blades because he thinks they are what Rolands gns look like. He is going to get the Dark Tower in between them with roses of course. And to go with the wonderful Dark Tower tattoos, he has Bulbasor, (the pokemon)

Those sound cool. Well the DT ones do. I don't know about the Pokemon one.
I actually like his pokemon tat he got it on his thigh so no one but me and his friends would see it. He got it with two of his other friends who also have pokemon tattoos. But I really like his DT tats alot

If it means something to him and his friends it's cool.
yea im just worried that he is going to regret it later. But it makes him happy and he is proud of it.

does anyone know how it will look when you tattoo a hairy area?
I know they shave it off, but how about when it grows back out? I've got hairy arms, but would love the
roland from the gunslinger cover (like Icry4oy has, shown earlier in this thread) on my lower arm (not sure what it's called in english, but it's in the same spot as icry4oy)

I want the little ka/white symbol on my ring finger where a ring would normally sit.
Chap.... hmmm, that's a good question... I wonder if the ink retards the hair regrowth?

I find the hair grows back just fine. I think the issue would be how thick and dark the hair is once it comes back and whether or not it would obscure the tattoo. Something you'll have to decide when figuring out placement.
Most of the tattoos I have in hairy areas, the hair grows back blonde instead of brown.. wonder if that's just me?
The tattoo on my right forearm. (Not DT related, of course - that's next.) I like it far better than the one on my left. This was taken the day it was done, so excuse the ridiculous swelling. (it's been there since december, so it's bitchin' now. )
Time spent with cats is never wasted.
That's very pretty Alisha. My wife has a dragonfly on the back of her neck. They make for cool tattoos.
BTW, there's a non-DT tattoo thread here: http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/...read.php?t=652

I forgot to post my new Tatt!! thanks for reminding me R of G!
the hair grows back, but I'm imagining that it would look bad if black hairs grew out of a detailed tattoo. so it would be nice to see some pictures of how it would look
I just don't want to keep shaving a tattoo
