    Default Great Music - Round 1: 1975-1979 (Group 11 of 16)

During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

    Bob Dylan - Hurricane (1975)

Ram Jam - Black Betty (1977)

    Village People - YMCA (1978)

Rainbow - The Man on the Silver Mountain (1975)

The Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane (1977)

    Fleetwood Mac - Tusk (1979)

Paul Simon - 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (1975)

I'm starting to realize that the 70's may just be my least favorite musical era so far. I hate almost everything. And I don't mean I'm not familiar with said songs, I mean that I see the names and shudder out of distaste.

There's a couple of songs in these contests that I really do hate (not this grouping, though), but I hesitate to mention them b/c I just KNOW someone will vote for one just to spite me LOL.

Bob Dylan has to go through. Voted for Hurricane to eliminate the need for a tie-breaker.

Thank you! Hurricane is one of the greatest songs ever and shouldn't have to fight that hard to stick around.
