    Default Great Music - Round 1: 1945-1949 (Group 4 of 8)

During the first round of The Great Music Tournament, please vote for up to five tracks you would like to move onto the next round. The top five tracks will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given track receives will determine its standing going forward.

IMPORTANT! Please do not simply vote on name recognition (or lack thereof) alone. Please do listen to each nomination and then make your choice. Even if you think you know a track well, it's still worth giving it a listen for a refresher.

The poll will run for seven days. Discussion is greatly encouraged!

The nominees are (please let me know if any video doesn't play for you):

    Johnny Mercer - Personality (1946)

Bill Monroe and The Blue Grass Boys - Blue Moon of Kentucky (1947)

The Andrews Sisters and Danny Kaye - Civilization (1947)

Goree Carter - Rock Awhile (1949)

Peggy Lee - Maņana (Is Soon Enough for Me) (1948)

Nat King Cole - Nature Boy (1948)

Tex Williams - Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) (1947)

A bit surprised to see both "Personality" and "Civilization" lagging.

Pablo, with all due respect your musical inclinations are not what the public wants, unfortunately. Conversely, neither are mine!!! LOL However, we must persevere, yes?

Looks like "Civilization" and "Rock Awhile" are tied for fifth place. With about 24 hours to go hopefully we can resolve the tie.
