HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
I have always enjoyed the idea of having a massive, leather bound, title branded on the cover, lectern required to display it single complete Dark Tower work myself. I don't really mind the impractical nature. I would buy one, and I don't consider myself a hard-core collector at all. I think they would do well selling to us.
Looks like Scribner just released their version. This morning I recieved 19 emails or so from Scribner's newsletter regarding King.

Same here. I guess one email isn't good enough.
I got nailed too. Yikes!
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
$8 for an ebook and $20 for a paperback?
Yikes again!
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
I'm a sucker for new editions like this so I pre-ordered them all. I'm hoping when they are released the prices will be discounted at stores and Amazon.
I only read one of the emails, just to make sure what they said. I think one email would have sufficed. I deleted them all.
John
I got the whole batch to three different addresses.
I suspect it was an automatic trigger, and they didn't anticipate having dozens of new titles from a single author on one day.
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
I agree with Bev : I think that they simply didn't think about the automatic newsletter

I was wondering if anyone had the same thing happen to them. I also read one, then deleted the rest.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
I found it amusing - just a reminder we can publish all these titles now!
really they own his books now? what about Signet?
It looks like they bought the Viking and Putnam books. So any Viking or Putnam books will now be Scribner/Gallery/Pocket.
Signet did publish The Green Mile and Cycle of the Werewolf themselves. I don't see those listed on the Scribner site so they might retain some rights to those.
Others that weren't included in this deal are the Doubleday and Philtrum press books.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Who is this Stephen King fellow that I keep getting emails about? He seems to have written a lot of books. I wish someone would notify us each time. Btw: is there a new Star Wars movie ? Why haven't they publicized that one? A lot of people would probably want to see that and buy a lot of related movie junk.
Nothing on narrator but amazon is saying that Dead Zone will be released on cd may 3rd:

It also looks like an unabridged audio version of Desperation will be released in April.
The first of the new trade paperbacks are out now.
I don't mind the IT. Actually I will probably go pick one up as a reading copy so I don't have to read my HC
My apologies if these were already posted, but I came across some covers for the new Scribner paperbacks that I don't remember seeing before:

Those are a lot better than the covers in the original announcement.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Yes those are much better. I could be wrong but aside from Lisey's, I think I these are the mass market paperback size whereas the first bunch were trade paperbacks.

Brian, you don't happen to have ISBN's for these do you? I'm not finding them on either the Scribner site or Amazon.
