And as I said on the Cemetery Dance forum, the cover makes perfect sense to me because every single time I've been naked at an amusement park, for one reason or another I've needed my rifle handy. It's just good sense.

When I'm naked at an amusement park I don't need my rifle, I need my gun...
A clarification via SK.com, in case anyone was wondering: This not a limited edition; Hard Case Crime will publish as many copies as are needed to satisfy demand for the book.
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
I'm of course beating the dead maggots that were feeding on the dead horse, but the CD slipcases are good quality, nicely designed, decently priced, and nice for a certain uniformity. I was looking at my shelf recently and just seeing all of the different heights of somewhat related books was bothering me. A few Grant & CD slipcases later, and my shelf looks much nicer and my favorites are nicely that much more protected from UV, accidental spillage or potential sprinklers.
And with CD, having a consistent company doing a consistent product across books coming from multiple publishers helps keep that uniform look. I like it.
That said, Joyland DOES have a little bit of overkill going on in it published forms and various resellers adding different attractions to the package. All fairly reasonable in a "dry" SK year, but a bit much when there is a lot of new activity.
Sorry for the rambling, I'm a freeflow poster, but just wanting to get a little active here again after trying to watch some of the Facebook group postings for a few weeks.
I am going to buy this book....even if it is not the first edtion.
I have a first edition hardback of The Green Mile...even though the six paperbacks were the first printing.
I have a hardback Colorado Kid (Large Print Edition) even though the paperback was the first printing.
Might as well carry on the pattern........

Same here! I like PBs fine but it's always nice to have a hardback edition as well.
I saw this today at B&N hidden way back in the Mystery section and not up front with the new releases. Looked for it at Costco as well but no luck.
I got my copy today at B & N
I guess I'm going to have to order a copy. Living out here in the sticks, if Wal-Mart doesn't stock it..... haha
Got one the other day at Books-a-Million.
"Thanks, but no, it isn't a cowboy hat. It's a fedora. And yes, Indianna Jones is still socially relevant."
Is there any differences in the US edition and the UK edition of Joyland Illustrated Edition?
I don't think so: I got two identical copies.

I find it interesting that there are 25 illustrations in the book (not counting the two on the dust jacket--Glen Orbik for the front and Susan Hunt Yule for the back) and there are three artists listed on the copyright page--Pat Kinsella, Robert McGinnis and Mark Summers--but only the last two "Alternate Sketches" have the artist identified.

Can you please confirm that those are the same illustrations than with the limited? Or is there more/ less?

I'll have to check, but I think they are new ones.

I've counted 22 interior illustrations in the new hardcover. The limited had 9, but one I could not find in the illustrated.
The style of the new illustrations is really different:
