Omg. It's Randall Flagg leading his people to the Monte Carlo and Mother Abigail-Daghain leading her fold to...wherever else.
Well, I can tell you it won't be Boulder.

thanks for the offers, Monte and Randall, but I'm pretty sure hubby would like me to room with a girl.
I'm not a huge fan of the Monte Carlo. I'll stay there if that is where everyone else books but I'd rather stay at the Luxor or something. I also had a horrible experience at the Tropicana so I'd rather not stay there either. It is still early and I'm for sure going so I'm not too jammed up about the place just yet.
Hey Erin, do you want to go in on a room with me?

Sure! I just read over your post and was about to volunteer!
I'm an easy roommate, I promise! I don't snore or anything.
I'd LOVE to stay at NY NY, but I'm cheap like that.

So, from what I'm reading...The Luxor is the place of choice? Like RF, I'd want to know where soon.
I don't wanna be all alone.
I'm leaning towards the Tropicana. I'll have to book this week.

Yikes, I haven't read very good reviews about the Tropicana.
maerlyn, why didn't you have a good experience there?
I've stayed there once. I didn't have a problem. Besides, it's pretty cheap and I have low expectations. I only plan to sleep there, anyway, not move in.

That is what I am pretty much thinking too Daggers. I'm not too picky....I've stayed in "worse" places in South America.
I'm going to post a Mapquest map of the area most people seem to be talking about with a list of the hotels...
From the Top marker down:
Monte Carlo
NY, NY
MGM Grand
Tropicana
Excalibur
Luxor
Four Seasons
Madalay Bay resort
The Hotel at Madalay Bay
This is according to Mapquest which was linked through RF's link in the first post of this thread.
I thought it might be cool to see that lots of the hotels mentioned already are pretty close. This is only a small portion of the strip...
Just remember that most of those hotels take up a city block..."close" is a relative term.

Jeez you're picky. Last time I try to do anyone a favor...
see I stayed at Fremont and Main in the old part of Vegas. Or should I say the original part of vegas. They have that covered walk area at night they have a light show to music. From what I remember it's relatively cheaper then the main strip plus there is free shuttle service to the main strip and back.
The Tardis (Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space) duh!
Yeah, it is usually cheaper, but it can be a PITA to go back and forth. Fremont Street just had the lights redone, though, and it is VERY VERY cool.

Yeah, the Fremont Street Experience is very awesome. Highly recommend it. Plus, there are spray paint artists that were WAY fun to watch - it's amazing what they can do with a few standard cans of Krylon.
Some of the Station casino hotels (there are 15 of them) are nice and on the less expensive side of things, but if you don't want to use a shuttle to and from the Strip, those won't be your best options. A lot of the cheaper hotels on or near the Strip are those that are a good bit older and more run down, so if you're picky about your accommodations, good luck with that. At least I've never seen any good reviews of other places, and I cancelled my stay at the Sahara because yeah, not so nice. I looked at the Tropicana, and ended up going to Palace Station, which is not the nicest of the Stations, and it was a decent room.
you're solid gold // i'll see you in hell
*Can tell Daghain is a hard-core Vegas goer*

I used to go 2x a year - I haven't been in awhile.
And ditto on the spray painters - very cool.

Sounds like you need a fix then..
