There probably should be a 2009 thread, but unless it is 14 months or less away, I am not sure what use it would be. Perhaps start it with a poll for location and or date. You can (or I can) start a thread with a poll allowing multiple choices so a person could pick a location as well as date.

We might as well get started planning it.
I don't believe our eventual goal of several gatherings over the summer (so its easy for people to come) will materialize in 2009. But 2010 has potential.

You could also put up an "other" choice and people could tell you their choice of location.
But that will probably give you a list of 1,000 places to go.

I like the idea of moving it around, but one of the nice things about Vegas is that it is, on average, the cheapest place to fly to from around the country. Just food for thought.

Agreed....and as long as you stay on or around the strip-you are very close to everyone else.
Additionally, lots of entertainment and things to do within close proximity.
Certainly it can't be done EVERY year in Vegas, but as stated it is resonably priced to fly in from most all the USA.
So, they people that are confirmed already, are all of you staying at the Monte Carlo?
I would rather be in the same place as the majority to enjoy as much of the fun as possible. Then again, if Lisa, Daggers, Erin and maerlyn are staying some place else, I'd rather follow them.
I think we are all trying to work out a place close to eachother. Matt said we can all stop by his room for a hook up.
I'm flying in Friday night and leaving Sunday morning. I'm hoping we can all spend lots of time together chatting it up face to face. I'm so super excited. YAY!!!

I won't be able to make the gathering this year. Las Vegas is to far and that week is my childrens birthdays, I am hoping the gathering for next year will be held in Maine in June so that I can make that one. I am looking forward to it actually

I'm still debating between Thursday - Sunday or Friday - Monday. Depends on airfare.
I'm trying to score tickets to O for that weekend, but that depends on prices as well. I'm planning on keeping Saturday wide open at least for meetups.
Maybe I can get a few of you to play poker, as well.
ETA: I'm leaning towards the Tropicana because there is an adults-only pool.

Sometimes the Luxor hotel has really good deals if you book in advance. I've seen some weekend rooms for as low as $120. Just a thought.

There's always an afternoon $1/$2 table at both the Luxor and Excalibur. Probably a couple other places too. They run a "learn to play poker" table, so you have to sit through a couple dummy hands, then it's a $20 buy in.
