I like a nice juicy steak just as much as the next guy, but sometimes you're in the mood for a greasy cheeseburger.

Eww. If you're talking to me, I haven't been in that mood for 27 years. I'm doing quite well as a vegan. It's a good metaphor, though: things addicts pretend that they need some of in some inexplicable way that everyone is expected to be able to relate to, when in reality it's just plain bad and others happily survive entirely without.

I'm a carnivore. I always eat meat with my hands during new episodes of walking dead.

Well, you have to try different things. It is hard to draw the line, I'll give you that. Some movies I like probably have less objective quality. But I don't have any alternate expression for the need to wallow in stupid on purpose. Sorry, no.

Stupid comedies can be smart. Zoolander, for instance.

Anyway, back on topic.
I second Major League

I know. I enjoyed scary movie because it poked fun at all those teen horror films that I loved at the time.
I'm not a huge comedy fan, what I tend to find to be the funniest movies are ones that aren't actually meant to be funny. I'm a sucker for super cheesy bad films. Of course I can't nominate any of them since they're not really comedy and they wouldn't fair well in the competition anyways.
Ok, that's it; on the record, I agree with earlier trending suggestion: Worst Movie of All Time should be our very next tourney!
The first Scary Movie was okay, I guess, but Lord, the sequels and spin offs... This Movie and That Movie and Movie 53, the incessant gutter humor we're awash in at this point.
Out of all those spoof movies, Not Another Teen Movie is probably my favourite. It's not great, but I thought it was smarter.

That's my favorite Ben Stiller. Maybe you're right.
It can be. I've never had much of a sweet tooth, either, but I do indulge in a dessert now and then. Not even as much as the majority of my vegan friends do, actually, but I take your point.
You're right. There will be time after the nominating phase for getting critical at length. All I'm saying is that anyone who thinks that by now we already have nothing left but to scrape the bottom of the barrel has probably just never gotten to watch enough of the good movies out there.
Hey, it says Nominations AND Discussion in the thread title. We're almost done nominations now anyways. At least comedy discussion should prove to be entertaining at the very least.
We don't need to inundate the topic with discussion. I think a lot of us are just waiting until we can nominate again, anyways lol

It's not a typical "Sandler" film where he plays a moron.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
