I thought that the season 2 was supposed to be based on FINDERS KEEPERS, but am I wrong to read this press release that it may more be related to END OF WATCH?

Hard to say. Montez isn't a character in any of the books.

    New addition to the casting
    > http://deadline.com/2018/01/mr-merce...es-1202248428/

Ferrer will play Cora Babineau, wife of Dr. Felix Babineau (Huston) and head of marketing at a major pharmaceutical corporation, who’s even more ambitious than she is beautiful. If her husband has a genius for manipulating people from the inside out as he reaches into their brains and rewires them, Cora has a genius for influencing people from the outside in. Her beauty, brains and force of will, judiciously softened with poise and extreme charm, make her a formidable saleswoman, of whatever she’s peddling.

The week of Feb 12th, filming was done at the house across the street from a co-worker of mine in Charleston. He had no idea what they were filming. He asked if I knew what Mr. Mercedes was. I haven't seen the first season yet so I don't know if this house was used before, but it will be in the new season. They filmed inside the house and did aerial shots.
    Corner brick house:
    134 Sans Souci St
    Charleston, South Carolina
They also used the white house next door and covered it in "a crazy amount of rose bushes." But no filming inside.

Sounds like Hodges' house. He has a next door neighbor in the series (played by Holland Taylor not in the books) who has a flower garden.

I think the goal here's to have as few people as possible watch the show.

I had no idea superchannel even existed until herberwest posted the link.

FWIW Audience network which offers the show is a channel offered as a "Thank you" exclusively to Directv customers, if that helps.

And DirecTV has a streaming service called DirecTV Now which offers a free trial for a week so you can definitely watch the show, and even other stuff Audience does, like You Me Her.

That's right I forgot. I always thought it was pretty cool of DTV to do that for it's customers. And it was something that DTV did prior to AT&T. With all the shows they have now started to offer, You, Me, Her, Mr. Mercedes & Ice to name a few I'd bet the window is closing for it, and may in fact have already closed. IDK seeing as I've been a DTV subscriber for over 25 years. They may now charge new subscribers for it IDK. In the beginning though it was a freebie.

Stephen King adaptation Mr. Mercedes will be back for a ten-episode second season on August 22, AT&T Audience Network told Deadline during the show’s panel at The Contenders Emmys. Director Jack Bender joined stars Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Kelly Lynch and Holland Taylor to discuss the series’ first run.

Speaking with Deadline’s Joe Utichi, Bender offered his first impressions of Mr. Mercedes. “When Stephen first sent me the galleys, I was thrilled,” the director said. “He had never written a detective novel, and I found it fascinating that Stephen was writing this time about the monsters inside the people, as opposed to the monsters outside the people.”

Not getting into specific details about Season 2, the cast instead discussed the complexities of the series’ characters, including a deranged serial killer (Treadaway) and the detective (Gleeson) who is set on bringing him down.

For Gleeson, what was so compelling about Mr. Mercedes was the series’ empathy in its full, human portrayal of even the most complicated, troubled characters. “When I talked to Jack and David Kelly, who I think is probably the best writer working at the moment in terms of human relationships, it was all about the inner conflict going on with everybody,” the actor explained. “Where we can be monsters, and kind of angels, all in one package.”

Mae. I'm curious to know if you have any insight why this isn't being released on DVD/Blu-Ray? I still need to check into the streaming service for the free week.

I wish I knew. I would love to pick up some of their lesser known shows like Billy & Billie on blu-ray. They may be holding them back so people sign up for the service. The streaming service should be a good alternative though, the shows Audience has are good.
