I was just going to say the same thing. You must love them.
I'm reading the Wayward Pines Genesis series by Steven Konkoly. It's ok, but not near as good as the original series by Blake.

I do. I do love them!
I posted about them in the what are you currently reading thread this morning and said they are easily some of the best books I've ever read. It's safe to say that they are already on my favorite's list. I really do love everything about them.

So, what exactly is it that you're reading? (Without giving spoilers since I'm not yet done with The Last Town. )

Heather, how was The Time Traveler's Wife? I've heard very mixed reviews of it, but the concept of it always intrigued me. Would you recommend it? And be brutally honest.

I really liked that epilogue! It was to the point and said so much with such few words.

    Spoiler:
And I really liked that it was left open for continuation.

And, fuck yes, I gave up on the Longest Walk Ever.

I liked it too (it reminded me of the epilogue to The Talisman...or Black House. I can't remember).

I think that it would've been a little more plausible if
    Spoiler:
it weren't such a long amount of time though. It took awhile for me to accept the 2,000 years in the future thing, so 70,000 years was kind of a stretch for me.

    1. I can see what you mean
    Spoiler:
about the time frame being a stretch in the epilogue, but it didn't bother me. I won't lie though, when I first even found out about it being the future, I was having a hard time understanding the time frame(s) of when Ethan first ended up in Pines, and when Theresa/Ben were taken there, etc. I was asking my mom about it since she read it before me, and she was like "I tried not to think too much about it because it got confusing trying to analyze it. i just went with it."

    2. It was hard to get through! And I remember you told me to finish it because it was short, and then I realized that I actually had about 150 pages left. I couldn't do it, man. I couldn't. haha

I really enjoyed it. I listened to the audio book, and I have to say when it comes to audiobooks, it was probably the most well done one I've heard. It was narrated by both a man and woman so it was easy to follow, and you didn't have the person trying to imitate the opposite sex which can sometimes be annoying I'd recommend checking it out.

    Spoiler:
Well Ethan was taken by Pilcher, and then Theresa and Ben were taken after. And then Hassler decided to go after that. I can't remember but I think he went with Pilcher and all them right, which might have been a few years later? I can't quite remember it's been awhile since I read it.

As for when they woke up in Pines I'm pretty sure Theresa and Ben were woken up first with Hassler, and then Hassler was sent off outside the wall, which is when Ethan was taken out of suspension. However if I remember correctly he was put back into suspension a few times because he didn't do well when he came out.

    1. I never listen to audiobooks (I tried once and found myself not paying attention), but the thought of a man/woman speaking for a character of the opposite sex does sound like it would be annoying and/or distracting.

    2. I wanted to get through The Long Walk so bad! In fact, I kept thinking: "If I don't finish this book, I'm gonna have to admit to it on DT, and Heather is gonna be so disappointed".

    3. Yeah, as the story went on,
    Spoiler:
I was able to figure out the timeline like you described. And you're right about Ethan being put into suspension a few times. Pilcher told Ethan that he tried to escape three times. I thought that was a nice little touch to the story. Ethan was a badass.

"They're all gonna laugh at you!"

And I don't think I would be able to really pay attention to an audiobook. I think it's too passive for me. I need to be actually reading the words to be fully engrossed.

And I feel the same about the audiobook. I was listening to one, and a few minutes went by before I realized that I wasn't even paying attention to what was going on because I wasn't having to concentrate on the words.

Well I was contemplating having to end our friendship...

As for audiobooks, I usually reserve them for books that I wouldn't get to reading. If it's one I really want to read then I have to read it, I could never listen to the audio. But for all those books that I wouldn't normally have time to read, I'll listen to them. Plus I have a crazy long commute to work so it's perfect for that.
