I love the IT as well. Wonderful!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

LOL!I'm a Firestarter... Twisted Firestarter...
I'd like to and I know Jeff is up for doing more. In the next few days (i'm pretty busy right now) I'll put up a poll and gauge interest on slip cases for the next set of Viking books. We need at least 10 for each book I'd say to make it viable for Jeff, otherwise we are into higher costs for the specialist plate.

I'm assuming these Firestarter slipcases are for the standard 1st/1st? Is it a consensus vote on picking one color so we would all get the same colored slipcase? If so, I'll vote for simply majority. I just want one. And if Jeff has any other slipcases laying around I'd ask him about those to combine shipping. I hope he's OK with that.

Yes these would be for the 1st edition books. The limited already has a slipcase
The vote is not about colours it's about which books I create slipcase deigns for next and what the level of interest would be. Colour combinations are entirely down to you and what Jeff can provide (see earlier in this thread for the list of options). Jeff takes the designs I create and has a die cut for his printing press. It is only financially viable to create a bespoke design if enough people are committed to buying.
Jeff has standard 'generic' Stephen King dies that can be used on any size case. Designs that print to the spine (like the Double Day ones) are specific to one book title (due to the way the design is printed).

Cost is directly proportional to the size of the plate that gets made. The biggest Jeff can accommodate is 226mm x 141mm which seems quite large, but you need to factor in whether the spine will be printed or not (both spine and front are printed as one plate so the gap between them must be accommodated - see picture below). A plate this size will be approx £40. The plates that were done for the Doubledays' were approx £30 each. Obviously you then need to add the cost of the slipcase itself (usually £12.95 plus shipping).
so as an example a one off Carrie would have cost £42.95 plus shipping - this is why getting buy in for a minimum amount is so important.

ready for the poll? i am in for all viking series. Thanks for all the hard work! i am sticking with black on all my slipcases. i put my covers showing out. i just like the slipcases to protect my signed copies from dust!
i am very pleased with the fit on all the doubleday books! some of the CD slipcases are too tight! no room for brodart covering!
