How was Green Inferno?

Disappointing. As an avid fan of pretty much all of the major Italian "cannibal boom" films of the 70's, my hopes were set high on this one. Now I'm not much of a Eli Roth fan, but I figured the guy who inevitably created the torture porn genre (which I'm not a fan of either) would have been a perfect fit for something like this. For a genre known for it's gore, there's surprisingly little to be found in Green Inferno (though when there is it's pretty well done). The make-up effects for the villagers I thought were good too but these few hi-lights were not enough to save the movie. Bottom line, leave this movie in the jungle where it belongs.

Having not seen the fourth Scream, I can say the only good Scream is the first Scream. The sequels aren't terrible bu they don't have that same satirical punch that the first one had. And Aunt Jackie is not a killer Scream 2.

What did you guys think of Crimson Peak?

“It’s not a ghost story. It's a story that has ghosts in it.” Oh, what truer words were said?
Crimson Peak has plenty of eye candy but little else. It also felt a bit too long, maybe because by the time I figured out this was supposed to be a Gothic romance and not a horror movie it was practically over. My least favorite Del Toro movie, sad to say, as I was really looking forward to this one.

My son and I liked it, hubby... not so much. It is somewhat creepy and has elements of Mama but not the scares. It is a story with "ghosts in it" as the main character states. Gothic romance/mystery with ghosts.

Thanks guys, that's good to know. I was expecting it to be more of a horror film. I do love Gothic romance stories though, so hopefully I'll enjoy it.
